96-97
Extremely floral, with aromas of dried honeysuckle, white roses, black currants, raspberries and orange peel. Medium-bodied with tight and focused tannins that are very compact and polished and a persistent finish. Just a touch of salt in the undertone. The cabernet really makes this direct and long. A blend of 60% merlot, 32% cabernet franc and 8% cabernet sauvignon.
94-96
An ultra-classic Pomerol, the 2025 Château Petit-Village comes from gravelly clay soils and is based on 60% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. Ripe black cherries, graphite, chocolaty herbs, and spice all define the aromatics, and on the palate, it's medium to full-bodied and balanced, with ripe tannins and clean, perfectly integrated acidity. Another beautiful effort from this château that merits serious attention today
Dark heady aromatics, really floral and black fruited with a softly spiced edge. Juicy, creamy, round, filling and fresh. This has a subtle charm from the off, not shouting – it’s a little subdued overall but I do like the texture. A touch grippy with nice structure, soft acidity and pure blue fruit. A little shy and toasted right now with liquorice and cola giving some tightness but it's long with some acidity underneath. A wine to wait for – grippy, stony, textured and gravelly. Record Cabernet percentage in the blend. Average vine age 53-54 years. 3.65pH. A yield of 16hl/ha.
