The 1997 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna La Casa is a full and generous interpretation of the vintage with an inky dark appearance and articulate aromas of spice, leather, Graham cracker and dried fruit. There’s also a good amount of menthol or dried rosemary sprig. This wine offers its best assets upfront and leaves less to chew on at the backend.
Dark ruby, with some red edge to it. Very ripe fruit on the nose, with a jammy raspberry and cherry character. Full-bodied, with polished tannins and a long finish. Just coming around now.
