Juicy red fruit. Open knit, fragrant. Powerful but quick to exit.
Needing air to really shine, the 2009 Domaine du Grand Tinel Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 5% Mourvèdre that’s aged in a combination of formats, displays a pretty, complex profile with sweet raspberry, loads of funky mineral, saddle leather, and herbs to go with a medium-bodied, silky palate. This has good mid-palate depth and firms up on the finish; while approachable now, it should benefit from a 1-3 years in the cellars and have a good 8-10 years of longevity.
