A more elegant, cooler and airier, even perfumed, nose is comprised by hints of rose petal, violet, red currant and a touch of exotic tea. The gorgeously textured medium weight flavors possess a silky mid-palate that contrasts markedly with the firm and somewhat grippy finale. This is certainly very pretty but the balance isn't completely dialed in.
Picked near the start, 8th September. A mid crimson ruby, a suggestion of liquorice alongside the soft dark raspberry fruit. Ripe, quite luxuriant, some blackberry too, lowish acidity, but there is nonetheless a fair volume of fruit in this wine which will give considerable pleasure. This has been racked and prepared for bottling, and seems ready for it.
