The brilliant 2023 Côte-Rôtie La Mordorée kicks off with ripe black cherry, dried violets and stemmy tones. Medium-bodied, crisp and energetic, the 2023 glides across the palate with impressive verve, letting the palate settle with tailored precision and subtle tension on the focused finalé.
A blend of both the Côte Blonde and Côte Brune lieux-dits, the 2023 Côte Rôtie La Mordorée offers a deep purple hue and beautiful aromatics of black cherries, red plums, smoked meats, and peppery, graphite nuances that turn more floral with time in the glass. This carries to a medium to full-bodied Côte Rôtie that has a seamless, layered mouthfeel, ultra-fine yet building and serious tannins, flawless balance, and a great, great finish. This is absolutely brilliant juice that deserves 4-6 years of bottle age and will evolve for 20-30 years in cold cellars.
