This is my favorite of the red wines presented by Duemani this year. The 2021 Syrah Suisassi (made with organic and biodynamic fruit) is true to the grape with dark fruit nuances, spice, black pepper and medicinal herb. Yet it delivers a balanced approach to the palate with supple tannins that add to the wine's velvety smoothness. The wine is, no doubt, stacked and concentrated. But I feel that it carries the bulk of its powerful fruit weight with harmony.
The aromas of graphite, stems and black fruit are so attractive. Very sophisticated. Medium-bodied with fine, firm tannins and a long and intense finish. 50% whole-berry fermentation. A combination of amphora, barrel and stainless fermentation. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification.
