More violets on the nose of this lovely wine (see my note on the 2002 tasted alongside it). Rich and vibrant, this wine has lovely life and richness as well as the density that characterises this wine. Likely to have a long life. Definitely the star of a group that included 2004, 2003 and 2002. Do we just need patience for a good vintage? (JR)
There is a deep centre here but this is now a mature colour. The nose shows some resolved tannins and some very attractive mature fruit, not luxurious but with depth. Then as so often the fruit gets more youthful, there is similar depth to the 2010. Impressive, especially since the 23-year-old Benjamin took over the reins on the eve of the harvest.
