Superripe, plush and complex, this nevertheless focuses on black currant, blackberry, Tuscan scrub, iron, tobacco and spice aromas and flavors. The tannins are muscular but not overbearing, yet the vibrant acidity provides energy and focus. Terrific length. Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. 500 cases made.
JS There is pretty currant, berry and chocolate character to this rich and fruity red. Full and velvety. Drink now.
The 2013 Lodovico seems to point towards a different style than that which Lodovico Antinori first favored at Tenuta di Biserno. The wine's translucent color, lifted aromatics and mid-weight structure are a significant departure from the past. Wonderfully lifted, fragrant and expressive, the 2013 has so much to offer. Blood orange, mint, sweet spice and raspberry jam lead into the silky, mid-weight finish in this supremely elegant wine.
