You feel some of the heat of the vintage in the 2017 Pian del Ciampolo, a year that is notoriously ripe across the board, but that sweet darkness plays a fairly pleasant role here. As a result, this wine shows less dimensional than its predecessors, but it is still a cheerful Sangiovese to match up with some pasta or a tripe dish.
