A notably ripe yet still agreeably fresh nose offers up aromas of red cherry liqueur, violet and a whiff of warm earth. The relatively supple if not especially concentrated flavors possess an appealing succulence that contrasts with the youthfully austere, dusty and slightly grippy finale. This may well age out successfully but at present it is less well-balanced than the best in the range.

A full and even purple colour. The bouquet is ripe, yet balanced, with red plums on the palate and a fair amount of tannin, as is typical from this plot. Picked early on 6th September. Still a little rough on the palate but longer elevage will sort that out. Drink from 2032-2038. Tasted Nov 2024 by Jasper Morris MW.
