This is stylish and seductive, its perfumed aromas evoking sandalwood, vanilla, cherry, raspberry, mineral and toasty oak. Juicy and balanced, with an extra dimension that kicks into overdrive on the lingering aftertaste.
Much like the Carelle, the expressive nose is airy, cool and super-fresh with its essence of red berry, spice and rose petal scents. The wonderfully sleek, precise and stony middleweight flavors possess a lovely sense of underlying tension along with a gorgeous mouthfeel, all wrapped in a firm, youthfully austere and impressively long finale. This is a classic Volnay of lace and grace.
A lightly purple in colour, with fresher dark red berries on the nose. There is a graceful sense of harmony to this wine which fills out the middle of the palate very nicely. Strawberries and ripe raspberries, with a structure built on fine-grained tannins and just enough acidity.
