This fully mature, gorgeously seductive, fragrant, complex wine offers up intense aromas of jammy fruit, mocha, roasted herbs, and sweet toasty oak. Full-bodied, with expansive, chewy concentration, gobs of fruit, and a soft, low acid plushness, this is the most gorgeous Trotanoy made following the superb 1975. Although still young, it is soft, delicious, and ideal for drinking over the next 10-15+ years. Tasted 11 times since bottling with consistent notes.
Dark ruby-garnet color, with tobacco, cherry and earth character. Full-bodied and concentrated, with firm tannins and a long, ripe fruit and dark chocolate finish
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 18/20 points.
