A more deeply pitched but equally fresh nose is comprised by plum, dark currant and a whiff of the sauvage. There is good volume and reasonable richness to the slightly more concentrated flavors that also possess a borderline aggressive minerality before culminating in a lingering finish that is more obviously austere. This is very much built-to-age and a wine that's going to require at least some patience.
Mid crimson ruby. The bouquet has slightly more sombre, darker fruit than the Pézerolles. Then the wine is relatively angular in the mouth, with tannins behind, but a little less fruit to cover them.
