The 2023 Bourgogne Blanc Les Hauts de la Combe presents a taut, flinty bouquet that opens nicely in the glass. The palate is fresh and zesty, with fine depth and grip, leading to a slightly pithy finish. A classy Bourgogne Blanc.
A slightly riper nose is comprised by notes of petrol, pear, apple and lemon zest. There is slightly better volume to the delicious and attractively textured middle weight flavors that also conclude in a dry, clean and refreshing if slightly simple finish. This too will drink well young.
In bottle since September. Pale lemon colour. An attractive quite lean bouquet, yet with elegance. The Joseph Colin style in a nutshell. Definitely lean on the palate yet with ripe enough tendrils of flavour, plus a fresh citrus overcoat.
