Bursting with aromas of pear, toasted nuts and freshly baked bread, the 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc is medium-bodied, lively and charming, with a pretty core of fruit and chalky grip on the finish.

The first wine in this tasting that is noticeably reductive (struck match). Nicely so. Likewise on the palate, marked in that style but with enough fruit to hold the centre ground. Mealy, oaky, quite broad but the fresh acidity really holds the shape. (JH)

Pale lemon colour, quite strict nose, post bottling and sulphur. Clean pure and intense, with surprising weight of fruit, on the chunky side, though fills out the back of the palate. 13%.
