Der Clos Fourtet 2015 ist ein Rotwein, ein Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé B, der vom Château Clos Fourtet gekeltert wird und auf dem berühmten Kalksteinplateau angebaut wird. Die diesjährige Cuvée besteht zu 88 % aus Merlot, ergänzt durch 10 % Cabernet Sauvignon und 2 % Cabernet Franc. Damit weist sie einen höheren Anteil an Cabernet Sauvignon auf, als für dieses Weingut typisch ist – eine Eigenschaft, die sich deutlich in der Struktur des Weins widerspiegelt.
Der Alkoholgehalt beträgt 14 %. Der Wein ist konzentriert, gut gereift, aber nicht schwer.
Der unterirdische Kalksteinboden verleiht dem Wein die Frische und die zarten Tannine, die das Markenzeichen von Clos Fourtet sind, und der Jahrgang 2015 fügt dem Ganzen noch reichhaltige Aromen hinzu, ohne dabei die Konturen zu verwischen. Die Produktion belief sich auf insgesamt 4.417 Kisten.
Die Farbe dieses gereiften Weins ist rot mit violetten Reflexen und zeigt Noten von Menthol, roten Früchten (Kirsche), Mokka, Schokolade und asiatischen Gewürzen. Der Wein ist mittelkräftig, die Tannine sind weich, der Abgang ist lang, ausgewogen und elegant.
Er lässt sich am besten bis 2042 genießen.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Clos Fourtet has lifted menthol notes on the nose over a core of chocolate-covered cherries, dried mulberries, baked plums and potpourri plus a touch of cloves. Medium-bodied and very firm with lovely ripe, fine-grained tannins and plenty of freshness, it finishes long and perfumed.

Blueberry, stone, mineral and dried-flower aromas follow through to a full body. Silky and polished tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Shows finesse, and polished with such sensitivity. Superb finish. Drink in 2022 but already a joy to taste.

Dark ruby in colour with an opaque core, purple reflections, and subtle brightening on the rim. On the nose, aromas of delicate nougat and ripe plum, underlaid with blackberry fruit, a hint of tangerine zest and fine herbal spice. The freshly structured palate is lean with red cherry notes and fine fruit expression on the minerally finish. Already well developed and drinkable, recommend decanting for two hours, the wine also has the potential for further ageing.
