Clos Fourtet 2015 is een rode wijn, een Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classé B, geproduceerd door Château Clos Fourtet en verbouwd op het beroemde kalksteenplateau. De cuvée van dit jaar bestaat voor 88% uit Merlot, aangevuld met 10% Cabernet Sauvignon en 2% Cabernet Franc. Dit is een hoger aandeel Cabernet Sauvignon dan gebruikelijk is voor deze wijngaard, een kenmerk dat duidelijk terug te vinden is in de structuur van de wijn.
Het alcoholgehalte bedraagt 14%. De wijn is geconcentreerd, goed gerijpt maar niet zwaar.
De ondergrondse kalksteenbodem zorgt voor de frisheid en de delicate tannines die kenmerkend zijn voor Clos Fourtet, en de jaargang 2015 voegt daar nog een rijke smaak aan toe zonder de scherpe contouren te vervagen. De totale productie bedroeg 4.417 kisten.
De kleur van deze gerijpte wijn is rood met paarse accenten en vertoont tonen van menthol, rood fruit (kers), mokka, chocolade en Aziatische kruiden. De wijn is medium-bodied, de tannines zijn verzacht en de afdronk is lang, evenwichtig en elegant.
Deze wijn kan het best worden gedronken tot en met 2042.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Clos Fourtet has lifted menthol notes on the nose over a core of chocolate-covered cherries, dried mulberries, baked plums and potpourri plus a touch of cloves. Medium-bodied and very firm with lovely ripe, fine-grained tannins and plenty of freshness, it finishes long and perfumed.

Blueberry, stone, mineral and dried-flower aromas follow through to a full body. Silky and polished tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Shows finesse, and polished with such sensitivity. Superb finish. Drink in 2022 but already a joy to taste.

Dark ruby in colour with an opaque core, purple reflections, and subtle brightening on the rim. On the nose, aromas of delicate nougat and ripe plum, underlaid with blackberry fruit, a hint of tangerine zest and fine herbal spice. The freshly structured palate is lean with red cherry notes and fine fruit expression on the minerally finish. Already well developed and drinkable, recommend decanting for two hours, the wine also has the potential for further ageing.
