The “Chambertin 2024” wine from Domaine Tortochot was crafted from a Burgundy harvest that proved to be a real challenge for the winemakers. Due to the cool and rainy weather that persisted throughout the growing season, the team led by Chantal Michel-Tortochot worked diligently in the vineyards and carefully selected the grapes during harvest, retaining only the Pinot Noir berries in excellent condition. The grapes, processed whole-cluster (about 25% of the total volume), lend lightness to this vintage, whose main characteristic is its freshness. This is a Chambertin characterized not so much by power as by intensity; it will reach its peak between 2030 and 2048.
Pale garnet. Lightly spicy on the nose. Quite delicate for a Chambertin. And with an edge of rawness. This doesn’t really seem to me a notch or two above her other offerings. Lots of acidity on the end. Jancis Robinson
