Vougeot 1er Cru 'Les Petits Vougeots' 2024 Hudelot-Noellat

The 2024 Vougeot Les Petits Vougeot 1er Cru offers mainly red fruit on the nose, commingling with wild hedgerow and bay leaf scents and a touch of black tea. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins. The acidity maintains freshness and vibrancy, quite granular in texture towards the finish. This should drink well for the next 12 to 15 years.

Burghound (93)

Once again the expressive nose of spicy and floral-suffused red berry aromas is cool, airy and ultra-fresh. The silky, refined and intense flavors exude evident minerality on the linear, youthfully austere and equally persistent finale. There is a touch of bitter cherry pop tart on the finish at present but I doubt it will persist for more than a few years after the bottling.

Jasper Morris (96)

Imperial purple in colour. The bouquet is less demonstrative but suggestive of class. Actually, just the little extra intensity is taking time to emerge, with a burst of darker red fruit with some plums at the back, very nicely integrated acidity and superb length. Started quietly but I have fallen in love with by the end. Charles likes it too!
