The 2015 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes offers good intensity on the nose with subtle undergrowth/damp moss scents emerging with time and complementing the wet slate notes. The palate is well balanced with good salinity, though it feels tightly coiled at the moment. As a consequence it does not quite deliver the persistence of say, the Les Folatières, although I expect it will gain length by the end of its élevage.
