Das Weinjahr 2022 in der Côte de Beaune war von warmem Wetter und Trockenheit geprägt, doch rechtzeitige Regenfälle milderten diese Auswirkungen und verhinderten, dass die Weißweine ihre Frische einbüßten. Für Château Sauzet ergab sich daraus ein Pouilly-Montrachet „Hameau de Blagny“, der Nuancen reifer Früchte aufweist und gleichzeitig die für den Pouilly charakteristische Spannung bewahrt. „Hameau de Blagny“ liegt hoch auf einem Hang mit Blick auf das Dorf, und in warmen Jahren macht diese Höhenlage einen erheblichen Unterschied. Sie können einen reichhaltigen, vollmundigen Wein erwarten. Obwohl er früher genossen werden kann als Weine aus kühleren Jahrgängen, ist er doch auf eine lange Lagerung ausgelegt.

Offering up notes of flowers, pear, freshly baked bread and hazelnuts, Sauzet's 2022 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Hameau de Blagny is medium-bodied, bright and lively, with tangy acids and chalky grip on the finish.

The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny 1er Cru has a complex bouquet that takes time to open in the glass: touches of wet pavement, Granny Smith apples and hints of fennel in the background. The palate is well-balanced, tensile and linear with a taut bead of acidity; this delivers an almost minimalist finish that is very Blagny in style. Good salinity and length. Very fine.

A slightly riper nose reflects aromas of white peach, citrus confit and a pretty array of floral elements. The round and fleshy but agreeably punchy medium-bodied flavors also possess a gorgeous mouthfeel thanks to the abundant dry extract that completely buffers the moderately firm citrus-tinged acid spine shaping the sneaky long finale. This isn't quite as tautly wound but it should still repay up to a decade of keeping. Also well-worth considering.

Lemon and lime in colour, a little softer than the Garenne in the bouquet. This is quite complete with a lifted energy to it, very long, not trying to be fuller bodied that it can be, the citrus note has both a light lime note as well as some lemon, while pure orchard fruit forms the back bone. Very old vines which yield little.
