The 2012 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs Canet comes from a just shy of one-hectare parcel located on the Meursault side of the vineyard. The nose is focused and linear, not dissimilar to the Les Perrieres though without the same level of intensity. The palate is well-balanced with a gunflint opening but it does not quite follow-up the promising start, dipping before the finish line on the attenuated finish. Perhaps it will put on more weight before bottling?
