Robert Parker (94)

Made with a blend of fruit from across the estate, the Pieve Santa Restituta 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Rennina offers excellent integration with soft spice and sweet cherry fruit. The wine packs textural richness, and you don't get the dry or desiccated tannins and phenolic pinch that is common in hot growing seasons. Indeed, the tannins here are sweet and well hydrated. There is plenty of fruit to round off a long finish. Rennina ages in oak barrel for 24 months, and 14,000 bottles were created.

James Suckling (96)

Aromas of dark fruit, mushrooms and rich earth follow through to a full body with creamy, round tannins that are long and beautiful. Deep fruit and a polished, velvety texture. Excellent depth and intensity to this.

Vinous (93)

The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Rennina is just a baby in the course of its evolution, understated and coy, with a bouquet of dried black cherries, stone dust and a cascade of violet and lavender florals that emerge only with time in the glass. It displays silken textures and a truly harmonious feel, washing across the palate with ripe red and black fruit scents underscored by crunchy mineral tones and a tinge of balsamic spice. A web of fine-grained tannins wrap the senses with youthful tension as the 2020 finishes long and staining with a pleasantly bitter sensation and hints of mocha that linger on. This may one day deserve a higher score. Bury the Rennina deep in the cellar.

Jeb Dunnuck (94)

Pouring a bright ruby/magenta color, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino Renina is generous with fruity aromas of blackberries, red cherries, crushed flowers, polished cedar, and mossy forest earth. Approachable and elegant, the palate is ripe with medium to full-bodied richness, plush tannins, and good length, and it retains crisp, refreshing acidity, with a nice, elegant saltiness. It was just bottled in June, so this was tasted quite early on, but it's going to be ready earlier and drink well over the coming 15 or so years. This wine is a blend of a few vineyards compared to the Sugarille, which is their single vineyard red.
