This has always been one of the best examples of Margaux during its period of mediocrity. Too light for a wine of first-growth standards, it has continued to exhibit some of the fabulous fragrance for which Margaux is famous. Soft, round, fruity flavors are suggestive of herbs, cedar, mushrooms, plums, and caramel. Fully mature, this wine should be drunk up.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 16/20 points.
