Winespectator (92)

This has a good mouthfilling feel, with dark plum and blackberry fruit layered with charcoal, roasted cedar and dark tobacco leaf notes. The structure is there, but it’s nicely folded in on the finish, with a smoldering iron note. Tasted non-blind.

James Suckling (93)

Extremely perfumed and floral with hints of currants. Full body, firm and silky. Pretty fruit and finish. Bright and firm too. Milk chocolate on the finish.

Jancis Robinson (16)

Unusual richness on the nose. Sweet palate entry and almost massaged texture. Whereas the Rauzan-Ségla seems to spring from the vineyard, this seems perhaps to owe its attraction to what happened in the cellar – but I may of course be 100% wrong! Lightish body and tea-leaf flavour. Tannins much in evidence on the drying end.

Rene Gabriel (18)

Rene Gabriel rates this wine 18/20 points.

Wine Enthusiast (94)

Very well balanced, this is already a beautiful wine that could almost be drunk now. Smooth tannins and oak are layered with red and black-currant fruits that are perfumed and fresh. The structure is all there, just light and fragrant.
