Robert Parker (95)

The fireworks continue with the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées, a striking wine that unwinds in the glass with notions of raspberries, cherries, sweet spices, rose petals, loamy soil and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, it's concentrated and tightly wound, its deep core of fruit framed by lively acids and powdery tannins, concluding with a long, mineral finish.

A slightly more deeply pitched nose grudgingly offers up aromas of spiced plum, violet and a whiff of exotic tea. There is very impressive density to the concentrated and tautly muscular flavors that brim with minerality on the rich but very serious and overtly austere finale. This is also lovely, but it is presently so compact that I would strongly recommend allowing it at least 5 years of cellar time first as it should be capable of rewarding up to 15.

Jasper Morris (94)

2.5 barrels made. Dense imperial purple with a brilliantly classy bouquet, as always a little firmer and wilder but it also delivers an extra weight of succulent fruit, really very complete. More than just a premier cru with a beautifully spicy finish
