Coming from a single vineyard in Rutherford, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Thomas Vineyard is deep garnet-purple in color, revealing alluring scents of black raspberries, kirsch and fresh black and red currants with nuances of rose oil, tilled soil and fallen leaves. The full-bodied palate has rugged tannins and bold freshness supporting the bright, energetic black and red fruit layers, finishing with great length and plenty of chewiness.
Lots of black fruit on the nose. Black cherry, blackcurrant, wet earth, clove and bark. It’s full-bodied with layers of ripe blackberries and spice, framed by firm, ripe tannins. Generous and flavorful, yet so precise. Structured.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Thomas Vineyard is another stellar wine in this range. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, licorice, spice, espresso, cloves and scorched earth infuse the 2018 with myriad layers of nuance and complexity. Rich and unctuous in the glass, the 2018 is a flat-out stunner. It is also one of my personal favorites in the range.
Blackberries, chocolate, roasted herbs, loamy earth, and tobacco notes define the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Thomas Vineyard, a rich, medium to full-bodied, nicely textured Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon that has the structure and balance to evolve for 15-20 years. I'd give bottles a handful of years in the cellar.
