A blend of 62% Merlot and 38% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Angelus reveals a deep garnet-purple color and fragrant aromas of crushed red currants, warm plums and pencil shavings with hints of incense, sage, violets and tobacco. Full-bodied, very fine and intense yet exquisitely delicate with wonderful freshness, it has ripe yet firm, very finely grained tannins and an epically long, perfumed finish. With bags of perfume and a captivating plushness, this Angelus is a real head-turner!

Dense, dark and muscular, featuring waves of warmed fig, plum and black currant paste that roll in with warm ganache, baker's chocolate and espresso accents. Tasted blind. Mid garnet and the colour is not that intense. Light impression on the nose – surprisingly so! Then very luscious on the palate with a slightly inky, Cab Franc-ish ingredient. Well mannered, even rather diffident. Good presence in the mouth. Still some tannin and good length. Glossy.

Deep, dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections and subtle rim brightening. Intense dark berry confit, fine nougat with a touch of liquorice and candied orange zest. Complex and lively on the palate with blackberries, ripe cherries, taut tannins and very good freshness. A long and persistent mineral and saline finish with savoury notes, ripe cherries and orange. Definite ageing potential.
