Deeper and more muscular than its Nuits-Saint-Georges counterpart, the 2021 Vosne-Romanée Village wafts from the glass with aromas of wild berries, spices, vine smoke and soil. Medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy, with powdery tannins and lively acids, it's a strong effort.
A glowing mid purple. The bouquet typifies the pure and hedonistic fruit of the village, getting us off to a good start. I was initially expecting more in the mouth here, though in fact there is still plenty, and more will emerge later after racking. Discreet for now, but on the right path.
