Cask sample. Mid ruby. Red-cherry fruit with lots of perfume. Floral notes of cherry blossom and violets. Obvious charm but still quite restrained and some clear structure and tannin on the long finish. (MH)

Vinous (94)

The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Chaumes 1er Cru has crisp and precise red berry fruit notes with fine mineralité and poise. The terroir is articulated beautifully by this wine. The palate is medium-bodied and very mineral-driven with crunchy red fruit tones. It has what you might call a "transparent" finish, with a saline aftertaste that lingers in the mouth. This is excellent.

Burghound (92)

A classic Vosne nose of red and dark fruit, violet, spice, exotic tea and a suggestion of hoisin is complemented by generously proportioned and rich medium weight flavors that terminate in a balanced and persistent finale. This is really very pretty but there isn't nearly the same class as displayed by the Les Rouges.

Jasper Morris (93)

Medium deep ruby. The nose is a little more backward here. There is plenty of fruit concentration, cherry and raspberry, with a menthol touch and some wood tannins. Slightly on the firm side today but I have no doubt that the fruit will win through.
