This is the first vintage I have tasted from this estate run by Olivier Bernard, also the proprietor of Domaine de Chevalier, and it appears to be a sleeper of the vintage. An opaque ruby/purple color and aromas of graphite, barbecue smoke and black currants are followed by a medium to full-bodied, concentrated wine displaying impressive purity, texture and length.
Dense, but supple along the edges, offering a packed core of cassis, blackberry and black cherry fruit. The lovely licorice, dark tobacco and violet notes glide to the finish, which shows solid, latent grip.
