Very deep, bright crimson. Real lift and race on the nose. Almost fizzy! With a light bitter note on the end. Very firm finish. The nose is so much more convincing than the palate … Giving it the benefit of the doubt. (JR)
Ripe though again attractively fresh nose speak of red and dark currant, plum, exotic tea and a range of floral elements. The succulent but quite punchy medium-bodied flavors also flash good power on the balanced, long and youthfully austere finale. This is also excellent for its level and warmly recommended.
Pulled out half a hectare (161/49 rootstock issue) after 2022 and replanted in 2023. Mid crimson to ruby, with a slightly more savoury nose than the Chalandins. Discreet up front then some cherries emerge further back. A spicy style of Vosne after the gloss of Chalandins, with perhaps greater length as well as structure.
