Robert Parker (95)

Opening in the glass with notes of sweet citrus fruits, white flowers and freshly baked bread, the 2023 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Domaine) is full-bodied, satiny and layered, with a deep core of fruit and a long, chalky finish.

Jancis Robinson (17.50)

Cask sample. Like a marble temple in the cold light of winter morning: every door closed, shining with white light. Closed. Long, broad, strong, bold lines; every angle precisely cut and fitted into the next. Lapidary. Lithographic right now, but you can feel the fruit and richness straining to be heard through those walls. Peaches and mint on the cool finish. (TC)

Vinous (96)

The 2023 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru hails from vines located on the eastern side in the lieu-dit of Les Longuettes. This has a fragrant bouquet with orchard fruit, crushed chalk and white flower notes that gain intensity in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with orange rind and tangerine tones. The vibrant, spicy, lemongrass-laced finish has a seductively waxy texture. This is excellent.

Burghound (94)

Here too there is an admirably discreet application of wood setting off the strikingly fresh aromas of Granny Smith apple, spice, wet stone and a floral top note. The middle weight flavors aren't as concentrated or as powerful as those of the Montrachet but they are even more mineral-driven while displaying similar length on the balanced, youthfully austere and equally compact finale. Very promising.

Jasper Morris (96)

Pale lemon with a green edge. Drouhin’s 2023 Corton-Charlemagne has an explosive nose, the minerals surrounded by a ripe healthy fruit, some more exotic suggestions without going over the top. A little melon and passion fruit, tendrils of honeysuckle, but it all comes down to earth on the palate with a very long finish. Drink from 2031-2040. Tasted Nov 2024.
