The 2012 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Beaumonts is one of Guillaume Rouget’s favorite wines of the vintage, and I can see why. It has more intensity on the nose when compared to the village cru, exhibiting quite precocious red currant, strawberry and marmalade scents that burst from the glass. The palate is very harmonious with a captivating, spicy edge. There is a palpable sense of energy here, with great length and persistency on the finish. This will have so much to offer once in bottle.
