Tasted blind, the 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots performed brilliantly, bursting from the glass with a stunningly complex bouquet of ripe cherries, rose petals, smoked duck and dark chocolate, complemented by exotic top notes of Asian spices. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and lavish, with a dramatic but controlled profile, structured around satiny tannins and juicy acids, and concluding with a long, expansive finish. Deep and multidimensional, this is an exceptional Reignots from Louis-Michel Liger-Belair.

Cask sample. Dense and deep. A rather introvert member of the Comte Liger Belair family on the nose. Sleek and restrained. Shoulders up and tight for the moment. Should get there but wait! Almost austere.
