Medium depth of crimson red. Some crushed strawberry overlaid with more prominent raspberry fruit. Sweetly sensual, now some ripe cherries in the mix too. Not an overtly demanding wine, but shows very well at the finish.
Iron oxide, rose-hedge spiciness and white pepper make for a very Pinot-esque nose. The palate is fresh, translucent, charming and utterly red-fruited, bedded in a wonderfully sumptuous but pristine ripeness. There is aroma and depth and real beauty that rings with a lasting echo. A.K.
Dark flavors of black cherry and plum are expressive of the Clos des Mouches in this hot, dry vintage, but a fresh streak of sour-cherry acidity lends lift and verve, too. Swathed in bramble and charred sage, this is an elegant, spicy sip, with fine, silken tannins.
