The 2016 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru was reduced to a single barrel this year because of the frost. It has a light but well-defined, slightly minty bouquet that opens nicely in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a fine thread of acidity, pleasing salinité here with good depth on the nutty finish. It feels long and tender. Maybe it would benefit from greater nerve on the last third but it should age well.
