Notes of pear, citrus zest, almond paste and white flowers introduce the 2022 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Clos du Meix, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and racy wine that's fine-boned and mineral in profile.
Here the nose is firmly reduced so a thorough aeration is recommended if you're going to crack a bottle young. Otherwise, there is borderline painful intensity to the impressively concentrated medium weight flavors that exhibit an almost palpable minerality on the bone-dry yet not especially austere finish that is sneaky long. This could use better depth but more is almost sure to develop if given a chance.
Lime and lemon colour. The bouquet adds a little extra ripeness, flowers plus a little yellow fruit, while staying leaner in texture. Clean, pure and intense on the palate with fine fresh acidity. There is a stony underlay to the slightly riper fruit. Drink from 2025-2029.
