The 2015 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Clos des Grandes Vignes Rouge was showing just a small reduction on the nose, but underneath lies attractive mulberry and pomegranate scents, augmented by a touch of blood orange. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, very well-judged acidity, seguing into a savory, almost meaty finish that will be intriguing to revisit once in bottle.

Cask sample. Dark purple. Very confident and integrated. Great polish and finesse. Really, what more do you want of a red burgundy?! Lovely race and yet ripe fruit. Long, silky.
