A solid underlying structure is matched to a lush texture in this polished red. Black cherry, blackberry, spice and graphite flavors saturate the palate, and this finishes with length and energy.

A densely fruited nose combines notes of markedly ripe but fresh aromas of dark pinot fruit, spice, warm earth and a wisp of violet. The elegant yet powerful medium-weight flavors also exude a fine minerality that continues onto the sappy, balanced and beautifully persistent finish. This muscular effort is notably more structured and is going to need at least 6 to 8 years and should ultimately reward 12 to 15.
