Gloria has graced many tables in America and, of course, the de facto ascendancy of this Cru Bourgeois to the quality of a classified growth was a lifelong ambition of proprietor Henri Martin. The 1986 has as much structure as any Gloria in the last 15 years, a deep ruby color, and plenty of tannin.

99: Sehr tiefe, dichte Farbe. Würziges Zedern-, Terroirbouquet, dahinter blaubeerige Spuren. Im Gaumen noch immer stark adstringierend, fleischig mit kräftiger Säure begleitet, ein langes Leben ist ihm gewiss, dabei wird er aber recht burschikos bleiben (17/20). 02: Zeigt zu Beginn eine doch relativ grünwürzige, dumpfe Cabernet-Note, deshalb gut zwei Stunden dekantieren. Ein Médoc-Klassiker nach altem Schnittmuster.
