The chateau feels the 1989 vintage of Mouton-Baronne-Philippe is its best wine in over three decades. It exhibits a very forward, creamy richness, gobs of velvety fruit, a heady alcohol content, and a fat, lush finish.
Reminds me of Port, with nuts and spices on the nose. Full-bodied, with soft and easy tannins and leather, berry and spice on the finish.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 18/20 points.
