The 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes wafts from the glass with an inviting bouquet of orange rind, peonies, red berries and ripe cherries. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with an enveloping attack and a generous core of ripe, sweet fruit that's balanced by some fine, chalky tannins and lively acids. This is a youthfully head-turning bottle of Les Chaumes in the making.

Broad and fleshy, exuding black cherry, raspberry, plum and spice flavors. There are light vanilla and sandalwood elements, along with chalky, tactile tannins on the lingering finish.
