The 2013 Clos de Vougeot has a mixture of red and black fruit on the nose. It feels just a little pinched at the moment. The palate is better with chalky tannins, crisp acidity and good depth, but it needs to show more flesh, more fruit toward the attenuated finish. I must admit that I was expecting more from this.
Sleek and focused, with black cherry, black currant, violet and mineral aromas and flavors riding the tightly knit structure. Turns austere and muscular on the finish, but needs time to settle down.
