The 2012 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrieres comes from 40-year-old vines, the last plot before you reach Les Referts. It has a strict, mineral-driven bouquet that is quintessential Perrieres, evoking sea spray and shucked oyster shell aromas. The palate is extremely well-balanced with crisp acidity. Notes of dried lemon peel, spice and flint gain vigor towards the finish that feels long and persistent in the mouth, although you feel that it is keeping secrets back for after bottling. One of my picks from the domaine this year.
