Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Péby Faugères comes roaring out of the glass with notions of baked plums, boysenberries and blackberry pie plus hints of dusty soil, wild mushrooms, Marmite toast and moss-covered tree bark. Full-bodied, concentrated and decadently laden with rich, seductive black fruits in the mouth, it has a solid foundation of firm yet plush tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and savory.
This a high-toned, extremely polished barrel sample with blue fruit, blackberries and ultra-polished tannins that give a creamy texture to the wine. Like fine velvet in the texture.
