Somewhat under most consumer’s radar is the 100% non-malolactic Sauvignon Blanc produced at Chateau Margaux. In some vintages, this beautiful offering can hit terrific heights of quality (i.e., 1999, 2001, and 2004). The 2003, which is not a great vintage for most dry white Bordeaux (because of the heat), is somewhat soft and flat. It reveals honeysuckle, pineapple, and more exotic fruit characteristics than the classic 2004
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 18/20 points.
