More brooding than its Chambolle counterpart, the 2024 Morey-Saint-Denis Village opens in the glass with aromas of plum, timut pepper, dark chocolate and smoke, leading into a medium- to full-bodied palate that is bright and perfumed, structured around powdery tannins and lively acidity and concluding with a long, saline finish.
60% whole bunch. Cask sample.
Mid-pale ruby. Raspberry on the nose and palate, deeper profile than the Chambolle. Medium-bodied but pleasant creamy fruit. There’s a savouriness to this which is attractive, with fresh acidity, and some powdery tannins on the finish. Matthew Hayes

The 2024 Morey-Saint-Denis Village works better than the Chambolle-Musigny on the nose with dark berry fruit, fine delineation and a little more mineralité. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. Clean and pure fruit, perversely quite Chambolle in style thanks to its velvety finish. Recommended.

Here too the nose is moderately reduced and revealing nothing. The super-sleek and equally well-detailed flavors are a bit less mineral-driven though they offer slightly more size and weight on the linear, balanced and youthfully austere finale that is just a bit more structured. This too is very good for its level.

Fresh purple, a slight yet invigorating stem influence on the nose. Super sensual, better acidity, or at least stem freshness, the floral side of fresh red raspberry, fine length. This works very well. Only 60% whole bunch here.
