The 2024 Chambolle-Musigny Village emerges from the glass with notes of plum, iris, peony and raspberry, mingled with spice, followed by a medium-bodied palate that is taut yet satiny, with a vibrant core of fruit and a racy spine of acidity, concluding with a floral finish. It is brighter and more ethereal than its two immediate predecessors and should show well from an early stage.

Cask sample. Mid ruby. Cherry fruit on the nose and palate. Mid weight. Quite fine tannins with balanced moderate fresh acidity. Matthew Hayes
(86-88)
The 2024 Chambolle-Musigny Village comes from three vineyards although some of the vines are currently being pulled out. It has a light nose with dark berry fruit, the whole bunch neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with soft, rounded tannins. Quite linear in style, this just misses a bit of depth and grip on the finish that trails away a little.

Moderate reduction dominates the fruit though there is both good freshness and energy to the delicious, succulent and silky flavors that exude a subtle bead of minerality on the lightly austere finale. This is lovely and quite understated in style.

Some vines have been pulled out for rootstock reasons, so this is almost all from Les Drazeys. Quite a dense purple, with a very pure clean bouquet, quite Chambolle, some flowers along with darker berries, some wood tannins at the finish. Perhaps just a touch of energy missing.
