The bouquet of grilled grapefruit is off the scale. Enormously concentrated for the 2024 vintage, this is a truly extraordinary wine. Very easy to understand but also incredibly deep and mysterious. Unbelievably focused, with a brilliant finish. From 75-year-old vines. Drinkable now, but best from 2027.

The 2024 Riesling Dhroner Grosser Hengelberg Monopollage GG was made from 75-year-old vines with ultra-low yields. It still swings with yeastiness on the nose. The palate delivers white pepper and white peach notes framed with lemon, uniting excitement with stoniness and freshness. Creamy oak imbues the stone fruit with some more suppleness. The 2024 is so taut and vivid. That gorgeous white pepper note reappears on the finish and illustrates how fine and precise everything is. It is outstanding. (Bone-dry)
